Privacy Policy

Rizz Up ("we", "us", or "our") helps you create message suggestions from screenshots. This policy explains the information involved in using our app, keyboard extension, website, and support, and the choices available to you. Screenshots can contain information about you and other people. Share only content you are entitled to use, and avoid including unnecessary sensitive details.
1. Information involved in using Rizz Up
We process the screenshot you use for a suggestion, including visible text and images, and the suggestions produced from it. We also process:
- Your Apple or Google sign-in identifier and account session information.
- The email address Apple or Google shares when you sign in. With Apple, you can share a private relay address that forwards our emails to you.
- Your selected message style, tone and flirt level; your dating goal, relationship stage and chat app; and how you found the app. If you choose to provide them, we also process your gender, age range and sexuality, your custom approach, and what you share in About me. Gender, age range and sexuality are optional questions after you subscribe and can also be changed in the Customize tab. Older versions of the app also asked for a primary use.
- Apple purchase and subscription records needed to verify access and ownership.
- Operational information, including request identifiers, IP addresses, timing, errors, image dimensions, and AI usage counts.
- Your email address and anything you include when contacting support.
- Feedback you submit in the app: your rating, selected feedback topics, optional note, and app and iOS versions.
- How you use the app and keyboard, as described in section 13.
- On this website, analytics about how pages are used, described in section 15.
2. Why we process information
We use this information to authenticate you, save preferences, create personalized suggestions, verify subscriptions, prevent misuse, resolve failed requests, and respond to support inquiries. We use your email address to answer your support requests, ask for your feedback about Rizz Up, and send important notices about your account or subscription. We don't send marketing emails. Screenshots and relevant preferences are sent to OpenAI for AI processing. The AI instructions include your selected style, tone and flirt level, dating goal, relationship stage and chat app, and, when you choose to provide them, your custom approach, About me text, gender, age range and sexuality. These details help tailor the suggestions to you. Gender and sexuality can be sensitive information; you can skip those questions, change your answers, or choose Prefer not to say. How-you-found-us answers are not added to the AI instructions. When you ask for more ideas for the same screenshot, the earlier ideas are included so the new suggestions can differ. Sensitive information may also be visible in a screenshot. Suggestions are provided for you to review and choose; Rizz Up does not automatically send messages.
3. Information we do not request
Rizz Up does not require your phone number or upload your contacts. This website does not set cookies; its analytics use your browser's storage instead, as described in section 15. Apple and Google authenticate you; we receive an account identifier and the email address you choose to share, rather than your password or name. Apple handles payment details; we receive purchase verification information rather than your payment-card number. On your device, screenshot access is restricted to screenshot images available through your Photos permission, rather than browsing other photo categories. This does not mean screenshot content is anonymous.
4. Services that help us operate
We use Amazon Web Services for application hosting, account authentication, storage, and operational logs. Amazon Web Services also hosts this website through Amazon CloudFront and Amazon S3; requests for website pages and links pass through that infrastructure, and CloudFront keeps access logs, including IP addresses, for 30 days to measure our ad links and keep the website secure. Our backend sends the screenshot you use, relevant preferences (including the optional personal details described in section 2), and earlier ideas when you ask for more, to OpenAI through its API to create suggestions. PostHog processes usage analytics for the app, keyboard and this website on our behalf (sections 13 and 15), and Meta and TikTok measure our ads (section 14). Apple and Google support their respective sign-in services, and Apple handles App Store purchases. Relevant information is processed through these services to provide the functions you request. Support correspondence is also handled through our email service.
5. How information is protected
We use authenticated requests, restricted service permissions, encrypted database storage, and the device Keychain for session tokens. Application logs exclude screenshot content, generated message text, authentication tokens, preference values, and feedback notes. API access logs include operational metadata and source IP addresses. These measures reduce exposure, but no system can guarantee absolute security. Please avoid sending passwords, payment details, or other unnecessary confidential information in screenshots or support emails.
6. Storage periods and account records
Our AWS application does not persist uploaded screenshot bytes: the backend handles them in memory for the request. The original screenshot remains in your Photos library unless you delete it there. Generated suggestions are available for retrying a request for 15 minutes. Their database records are scheduled to expire after 24 hours; physical deletion is asynchronous, so this is not a promise of erasure at an exact moment.
OpenAI may retain request and response content for abuse monitoring for up to 30 days, with longer retention for legal or safety needs, and encrypted prompt-cache data for up to 24 hours. We disable stored responses, which does not eliminate these separate retention periods. See OpenAI's API data controls for details, including image safety review.
Rate-limit records have a two-hour expiry, processed subscription notification records a 30-day expiry, and operational logs a 30-day retention setting. Database recovery backups have a 35-day recovery window. Preferences and subscription access records remain until changed, superseded, or removed through account deletion. Your sign-in email address is kept until you delete your account. Your custom approach, About me text, gender, age range and sexuality are kept with your preferences until you change or clear them, or delete your account. Feedback submissions are scheduled to expire after 365 days and are removed earlier when you delete your account; database expiry is asynchronous.
Usage analytics, including website analytics, are kept in PostHog for 1 year. App and keyboard analytics linked to your account are also deleted when you delete it (section 8). Meta and TikTok keep what they receive under their own policies.
After account deletion, we retain purchase ownership records and a pseudonymous reference to your original Apple or Google identity, together with a deletion marker. These support purchase recovery and prevent another identity from claiming your subscription. They exclude your email, raw provider identifier, and preferences. They are retained without a fixed expiry and remain personal data. Existing backups expire according to their recovery window.
7. Intended for adults
Rizz Up is intended for people aged 18 and over. Selecting the under-18 age range blocks generation. Do not submit sexual content involving minors. Contact us if you believe a child has supplied personal information through the service.
8. Your account and privacy choices
You can change supported preferences in the app, sign out, or choose Delete Account in the Account section. In Customize, you can edit or clear your custom approach and About me text, and change your gender, age range and sexuality. Choosing Prefer not to say keeps that detail out of the AI instructions for subsequent suggestions. Deletion removes your profile, preferences, and temporary request data, subject to the retained records and backups described above. Signing out keeps your account for later use. Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Manage cancellation separately through your Apple subscription settings. Contact support for help with your information or purchase recovery; identity verification may be necessary before account-specific assistance. To stop feedback emails, reply and ask us. Deleting your account removes your email address.
You can turn off usage analytics at any time in iOS Settings › Rizz Up › Share usage data, and change whether Rizz Up may track you across apps in iOS Settings › Rizz Up › Allow Tracking. Deleting your account also asks PostHog to delete the analytics linked to it. Website analytics have their own switch (section 15).
9. Other apps and services
Apple, Google, your email provider, and any messaging or dating app you use have their own privacy practices. Rizz Up does not control information they collect directly. Review their policies when using their services. Inserting a suggestion into another app places that text within that app's environment.
10. Updates to this policy
We may revise this policy as the service changes. The version published here will show its effective date. Review this page for the current description of our practices.

12. Keyboard and Photos permissions
Full Access enables the keyboard's network requests for suggestions. Photos permission lets it find eligible screenshots; importing the latest screenshot can select an older image. You can change these permissions or remove the keyboard in iOS Settings. Restricting access may prevent screenshot-based suggestions. Changing permissions does not delete an existing account or cancel billing.
13. Usage analytics
Starting with version 1.2, Rizz Up uses PostHog, a US analytics service, to understand how people use the app and keyboard and to find what to improve. We record:
- the screens you open and the buttons you use, in the order you use them;
- your onboarding answers (dating goal, relationship stage, chat app, and how you heard about Rizz Up) and your style, tone and flirt-level choices;
- keyboard setup steps, practice-tutorial steps, sign-in outcomes, and subscription and purchase status;
- from the keyboard, with Full Access: counts of what happened, such as ideas requested and which suggestion position and style was inserted;
- from our server: whether requests succeeded, their timing and AI usage counts, and App Store subscription events;
- errors and crash reports; device model, iOS version, app version, language, time zone and App Store country.
Usage analytics never include your screenshots, suggestion text, what you type, the content of your chats, your custom approach or About me text, your gender, age range or sexuality, or feedback notes. For personal-detail editors and the optional questions after you subscribe, analytics record only which editor or question was used and whether a value was present, saved, changed or skipped, never the answer. Feedback analytics include the rating, selected topics and whether a note was provided, never the note itself. There are no screen recordings. Your analytics are linked to a random identifier until you sign in, then to a one-way hash of your account identifier, never to your name or email.
You can turn this off in iOS Settings › Rizz Up › Share usage data. The app, the keyboard and our server then stop sending your usage analytics, and the keyboard deletes any it hasn't sent yet.
14. Advertising measurement (Meta and TikTok)
Starting with version 1.2, outside the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Rizz Up includes Meta's SDK to measure our ads on Facebook and Instagram. The keyboard never includes it.
- iOS asks whether Rizz Up may track you across other companies' apps and websites. If you allow it, Meta's SDK may use your device's advertising identifier.
- Whether or not you allow tracking, Rizz Up tells Meta when the app is installed and opened, when you create an account, when you start a free trial, and when you buy (the product and its price).
- When a free trial becomes a paid subscription, our server tells Meta, with Meta's own install identifier for your device, whether you allowed tracking, and technical device information. We never send your name, email, account identifier, screenshots, preferences, personal details or feedback notes.
- Meta processes this under its own terms and privacy policy. We don't currently use Meta's Limited Data Use option.
Starting with version 1.3, outside the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Rizz Up also includes TikTok's SDK to measure our ads on TikTok. The keyboard never includes it.
- If you allow tracking, TikTok's SDK may use your device's advertising identifier.
- Whether or not you allow tracking, Rizz Up tells TikTok when the app is installed, when it's opened (including the next day), when you create an account, when you start a free trial, and when you buy (the product and its price). TikTok's SDK also sends technical information about your device, such as its model, screen, memory, time zone, local network address and when it last started.
- When a free trial becomes a paid subscription, our server tells TikTok, with your device's identifier for Rizz Up and whether you allowed tracking. We never send your name, email, account identifier, screenshots, preferences, personal details or feedback notes.
- TikTok processes this under its own terms and privacy policy. We don't currently use TikTok's Limited Data Use option.
15. Website analytics
This website uses PostHog to understand how visitors find and use it. When analytics are on, your browser sends PostHog the pages you view and how long you stay, the referring site and any campaign details in the link you followed (such as an ad or creator campaign), your browser, operating system, device type and screen size, and the parts of the page you use: the demo's stage, match and chosen reply style, the questions you open, and which App Store link you tap. PostHog uses your IP address to estimate your country and does not store the address.
To recognize a returning browser, PostHog keeps a random identifier and a session record in your browser's local and session storage. It does not set cookies, and we do not ask for or attach your name, email address or Rizz Up account to website analytics. This website does not include Meta's pixel. The demo's chat lines are not sent. PostHog stores this data in the United States, and we use it in aggregate to improve the website and our marketing.
You can turn website analytics off with the switch below or at the bottom of any page. It removes the stored identifier and stops this browser from loading PostHog or sending it anything. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, analytics stay off.
